Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had a talent to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first tryout she came third in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and subsequently signed an official contract to Adidas. In 2004, she was enrolled at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place in Athens Greece. She broke a Junior World Record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 second. She was the youngest 200-meter world champion in the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at the Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her competitions.
